Ingrid Ochoa, MPH, CHES is currently a faculty advisor and instructor for the Department of Health Education. She is an MPH ’06 alumnus and has worked at SF State as a sexual health educator at the Student Health Services and Health Promotion & Wellness. Her span of work has included family planning, STI, HIV/AIDS prevention, sexual health promotion, sexual violence prevention, health communications strategies and student leadership development and organization. As a public health practitioner, her principles and practice of work are grounded towards social and health equities, and the intersectionality of peoples overlapping identities and experiences. She thrives on engaging and advising health education students to reach their objectives to function more as autonomous, socially responsible critical thinkers and an advocate to social justice. Ingrid’s extensive experience has focused on linking prevention and youth empowerment in community-based programming, program management and development.
